First Haircut

While we were in Ohio for Grandma Linda’s wedding Will had his first haircut.  JR has cut all the Schindler boys hair and Nick always makes sure to schedule a cut when we visit. Madeline even got her hair trimmed by JR…

Here is our little man getting a neck trim. He kind of had a mullet…

Christmas & Wedding 051

Madeline woke up around 7:30 Christmas morning and REFUSED to come down until I put her in this Christmas dress. She had even gotten it out of the closet the night before to be ready.

Here she is revealing her tiny kitchen from Santa. She was sort of disappointed because she thought Santa was going to be at our house that morning. That is why she had to put on her Santa dress.

We finally tried out our new basement and game table. Thanks Grandpa Ross & Grandma Jenna for helping us rearrange the furniture.

What wasn’t pictured was the hours Grandpa Ross spent with Will. He is the baby Will go to guy. He can get him to sleep in about 30 seconds!!! Grandma Jenna and Madeline played and played. This included kitchen time, bath time, picnic on the floor, and story reader.

The Grandparents even watched the kids so that Nick and I could do some after Christmas shopping and returns. We had forgotten how much easier some things are without kids and car seats!  We sure had a fabulous Christmas!

Merry Christmas From The Schindlers

Joy to the World!

Luke 2:9-12
And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear. (10) And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy that will be for all the people. (11) For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. (12) And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”

Meeting Santa

Will & Madeline got to meet Santa!  I was a wee bit nervous we might have a repeat of last year! Madeline was so determined to tell Santa about the tiny, tiny kitchen she wanted that she toughed it on out!  She even added she would like 4 books, 1 for daddy, and a present for Will. I guess I know where Mommy ranks. Smile Santa told her that he would see about the kitchen. I sure hope she keeps being a good girl!

This weekend Grandma Linda, Andy, and GG have come to O’Fallon to celebrate an early Christmas.  Madeline really enjoyed helping Will open his presents. Here are some pictures of the fun!

Cookie Decorating

There is nothing quite like making sugar cookies and icing them with a 2 1/2 year old!  She loved every minute of it and I don’t think I have ever seen so many sprinkles on a cookie or on my kitchen floor. What a fun Christmas tradition!

Will’s First Sunday

Will headed to church with his big sister leading the way. She was very proud to present her brother to her Sunday School teacher. He did great and didn’t cry a bit! Then we decided to head to Cracker Barrel for his first eating out experience. YUMMY!

Church kind of wore him out!

First Bath

Today Will had his first bath. He loved it. Not one tear.  Matter of fact, it relaxed him so much he had a diaper change not too long after his bath.

Thanksgiving

Worst picture taker EVER! Yep, I just enjoyed the holiday and forgot to take any pictures. We had a nice laid back holiday with Grandpa Ross & Grandma Jenna. A nice small turkey breast, some of our favorite side dishes, pecan pie, and chocolate cake. We even had our friends the Latall’s come visit. I’m not sure they will ever come back because Nick talked Jon into helping him build his new trailer. Here are the FEW pictures I took.

Will did lots of sleeping & eating!

Madeline enjoyed having the grandparents to play with. (Mom liked it too!)

Yes, this is the only picture I took of Grandpa Ross & I took none of Grandma Jenna. I will do so much better at Christmas!

Thanksgiving 024

Here is our turkey breast. Isn’t it tiny. Just the right size for a meal and one set of sandwiches.

Happy Thanksgiving!

One Week Old

Our little Will is one week old!  The time is already flying by. Here are a few pictures of our little one. He laughs all the time while he is sleeping. It is the funniest laugh. He is a huge eater and enjoys a couple of meals during the night. At least he sleeps in-between.

Grandpa Ross & Grandma Jenna were able to stay and extra day to help me get caught up on a few household items like…ironing, curtain hanging, bathroom cleaning, fridge organizing, sheet changing, and Madeline hugging.  Thanks Mom & Dad for helping out. Now, Madeline lets me know if I haven’t scrubbed her hair enough like Grandma Jenna and she always reminds me to brush my back teeth. Smile

Love you guys!

William Steven Schindler

Yes, our Little Will is here! I think the most exciting thing is that I don’t have to type Hot Dog anymore. Although, Madeline continues to call him Hot Dog.  We actually didn’t decide his name until the last minute. We couldn’t leave the hospital until we had a name. So on Sunday afternoon we made our decision William (Nick’s grandpa’s name and My grandpa’s name), Steven (Nick’s middle name, Nick’s Dad’s name, and My Dad’s middle name). I think we have just about covered all the men in our lives. :)

Here is how it all happened…

Friday night I wasn’t feeling very hungry for dinner so I decided to have a few jalapeño poppers. Yep, I think that is what did it.  Then around 10:00pm I had a few contractions and Nick sent me to bed with a glass of water and told me to not have this baby on one of his days off. Well, around 12:30 the contractions started. They were 8 minutes apart and then when they went to 7 minutes I decided to call the grandparents and wake up Nick. Everyone started heading to O’Fallon to take care of Madeline and Nick took a shower and started to load up the car. Finally when the contractions were 4 minutes apart I hustled Nick up and he loaded Madeline in the car and we headed to St. Elizabeth’s. Thank goodness I was the only person in the labor section. I had such wonderful personalized care. It was FABULOUS.  They also had great medications and my epidural guys were my new best friends. Finally Grandma Linda, GG, and Andy arrived and whisked our Madeline away.  Around 12:55 pm I felt the need to push and 15 minutes later here came our little boy.  Let me just say he was LOUD! He came out crying. He weighed an even 9 pounds, 21 inches long, and his head circumference was 15 inches!  Soon I learned why he was screaming he was HUNGRY!  A 9 pound boy takes a lot of food.  Here are a few pictures of the day.

Grandpa Ross and Grandma Jenna are still here helping out.  It sure has been nice having so many people here to finish up a few to do list and heap attention on Madeline Grace.

Welcome to the world William Steven Schindler!
