Thanks to our friend Sarah we have found a fun new park. It is a bit of drive but it is so nice. It is at Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville.
A little info..
Located within the grounds of the Roman Catholic National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, the lushly landscaped two-acre Children's Memorial Playground opened in the summer of 2002.
The playground was designed with a spiritual theme in the hopes of providing adults with a backdrop for religious instruction. The seven days of Creation are colorfully depicted in a rubberized walking surface that circles the playground; at the entrance to the park is a life-size sculpture of a kneeling Jesus, created by artist Tom Foppe. Children can also climb on oversized rock sculptures and swing to their hearts' content. A family restaurant is also located on the church's grounds.
We packed a picnic lunch and spent a few hours enjoying the sun. Will loved it and Madeline made a few new friends. GG liked the strawberry milkshake we got after.
She asked to have her picture taken with Jesus.
Will was singing Old McDonald in the little playhouse.
Here is Will and his laps.
