Feels like Fall

On Monday it was so chilly that I had to break out the new coat (thanks Grandma Linda) for our walk down to Kindermusik. It might be a wee bit big but it is too cute and I am sure she will QUICKLY grow into it! I even found matching mittens and a hat at Wal-Mart. She is all set for winter!

It had to happen!

Yes, it finally happened Maddie said her first word and it was Da - Da! Needless to say Nick is the happiest guy in the world and I am currently working with Maddie on a daily basis with her soon to be second word Mom! She tried the Da-Da song out the entire way to Lawton yesterday and throughout Sam's. She is so cute because she has turned it into a song and laughs at herself in the middle of her concert. Maddie got her flu shot today and is a wee bit grumpy but I did catch a picture of her playing with her favorite toys before the shot. Hopefully we will get some good pictures this weekend when Nick and I go for a picnic and hike at Quartz Mountain this weekend. Also, for those of you who don't know...Nick has started his masters with Liberty. He is working on his MBA. I am super proud of him but sad that our evenings of watching Monks, 24's, and Office reruns are coming to an end as he is having to study. I guess that is all the news from the Schindlers!

Grandma & Grandpa

Grandma and Grandpa Searl made a quick trip down to see the precious Madeline. We had a fun weekend filled with food, cards, playing with Madeline, and lots of laughs.
Thanks for coming Mom & Dad!!!

New Halloween Outfit

Well, I decided that our little Maddie needed some festive outfits for the upcoming Halloween season. So I whipped up some pants and a matching shirt. Of course I had to make a coordinating hair bow and now she is ready to celebrate. So if anyone wants to invite us to a fall party.... We are so ready. She is such a good baby she will just let me put anything on her and take her picture. She is now able to sit up by herself and she is loving it. She will wiggle and wiggle when you are holding her. She just wants you to sit her up! It has been so nice and cool here. It is really feeling like fall! Today is also Nick's and my 3rd wedding anniversary. At lunch today (fancy Sonic) we talked about all the things that have happened in the past 3 years. The time has gone so quickly. What an adventure!

Love my Husband!

I sure love my husband! I especially love it when he is being silly. Here he is goofing around with our friends Jason and Laura Brown.

Carving Party 2008

Nick & I decided to start a new fun tradition. We invite some fabulous friends over to have a pumpkin carving party. The idea all came together as we were standing in SAM'S and saw the wonderful huge pumpkins. We (by we I mean Nick) dug in the big tubs to find the best of the best. Then I quickly got on the phone and called the Shaub family and the Brown Family. I don't know if you are allowed to say this about your own party but I had a super fun time and thought it was great! We bought a great carving kit at Wal-mart and it worked so great. The boys were the boss of cutting the top and cleaning out the guts and the girls did the designing. We had nacho cheese dip, a vegetable tray, spinach artichoke dip, roasted pumpkin seeds, Nathan's hot dogs and S'mores! The best part of the whole entire night was the great conversation and lots of laughs with our friends around the fire pit. Too bad Madeline slept through most of the party. I am sure she will enjoy this tradition much more next year! This will definitely be a new tradition!
