Be A Hero Day

Today was Be A Hero Day at Madeline’s school. For 50 Pence she could wear a super hero outfit and for 20 pence she could have a cookie at recess. The day ended with a school wide assembly. The kids had learned a few songs and dances. It was very cute!

Our family also had the privilege of having Steggy the classroom dinosaur for the week. He wanted to be a part of be a hero day so I sewed him a costume… he went as SUPER CLIFFORD!

Madeline went as Super Hello Kitty… You have to love hot glue for a quick cat mask and I am thankful my sewing machine started right up out of the moving box!

Somebody fell asleep on the way to Madeline’s school.

Saturday adventure

We needed to make a run to Costco in Milton Keynes so we decided to hit a few English Heritages sites along the way. We have to take full advantage of our membership!

Our first stop was Wrest Park. It was BEAUTIFUL and Muddy and RAINY! But we had a great time. I couldn’t imagine living in such an amazing home. It sure reminded us of Downton Abbey. We enjoyed our picnic lunch to avoid the rain. The house to the left is where they sometimes had tea and small social engagements.

Then we headed to Houghton House. It was was built in the 1615 as a hunting lodge and has an interesting story not to mention a beautiful view. William was asleep in the car while Madeline and Nick explored. It was a very fun morning that ended with a trip to Costco for a living room rug.
