Hyde Park Winterwonderland
The day after Thanksgiving we jumped out of bed and threw on some clothes and hit the road. We followed our friends the Rivards to the tube station and took our first tube ride into London. It was crazy awesome. I think it might be what New York subway feels like. It would get so crowded and everyone would be rushing. I loved it. The people were amazingly friendly and helped me every time William would drop something! We got off at Hyde Park and headed to the Winterwonderland. We had purchased tickets to the Magical Ice Kingdom. It was –4 degrees Celsius in this room filled with HUGE ice sculptures.
First ride on the tube.
A cheesy pretzel from the Winterwonderland Christmas market. YUMMY!
William loved the fries!
Nick and Madeline on a crazy ride. Nick even said it was scary!
We even had a chat with Santa in the Santaland. A doll house is the only thing on Madeline’s list. I sure hope she is a good girl!
We walked to a Hamley’s a HUGE 5 story toy store in London. It was amazing. They had toy demonstrators everywhere doing magic, markers, fingernails… It did not impress this worn out guy!
They had a whole floor of Hello Kitty!
Madeline’s treat. She bought it with the money that GG sent.
Then we walked on down the street and checked out the Niketown. They had a live DJ and it was HUGE! The streets were packed with shoppers and it was a Friday. We had a great time and London is gorgeous at Christmastime. The store windows are decorated beautifully. We are now in the Christmas spirit!

Be A Hero Day
Today was Be A Hero Day at Madeline’s school. For 50 Pence she could wear a super hero outfit and for 20 pence she could have a cookie at recess. The day ended with a school wide assembly. The kids had learned a few songs and dances. It was very cute!
Our family also had the privilege of having Steggy the classroom dinosaur for the week. He wanted to be a part of be a hero day so I sewed him a costume… he went as SUPER CLIFFORD!
Madeline went as Super Hello Kitty… You have to love hot glue for a quick cat mask and I am thankful my sewing machine started right up out of the moving box!
Somebody fell asleep on the way to Madeline’s school.
