Christmas 2009

I can’t believe Christmas has already come and gone. It went WAY too fast. What a beautiful holiday shared with family and some fabulous snow!  Here are some pictures of our Christmas.

The family started arriving on Christmas Eve Eve. First Grandma Erma and Linda arrived. We had some yummy soup and then went and walked through the Altus lights before the sleet began.

On Christmas Eve we started on the puzzle,

had yummy donuts, played with all Madeline’s toys, and counted the hours until we opened the first gift of Christmas. Which was… matching P.J.’s! I made matching P.J.’s for the family.

Then Grandpa Rosh (Grandpa Ross) gave everyone matching scarf's. Who knew we were going to be so fashionable on Christmas Eve. We finished the evening with yummy food, watching the movie Up, and listening to the sleet hit the windows.

This is what our front yard looked like by the middle of Christmas Day.

We woke up early and enjoyed a quick breakfast and then it was time for presents. Madeline was so excited to finally tear into the presents she had been looking at for so long under the tree.

After she opened her doll she was done for awhile. She just wanted to play with her doll!

I think everyone had a good time opening and watching Madeline get so excited!

Then Madeline finally decided to open another present and it was her doll stroller and doll bed. She seemed to like it so much she just wanted to ride in it. She was totally finished with this whole present opening thing. She didn’t open another gift until the next day. (Please notice the shocked Grandma Jenna and the laughing Grandpa Ross.)

Madeline did really enjoy her new tricycle. Last year it was the wagon all around the house. This year it is the tricycle. :)

The next morning was yummy pancakes and bacon (thanks Andy), trip to Wal-mart, smoking out meat, game playing, and puzzle doing!

Sunday was a church going, card game playing, movie watching, puzzle working, Madeline playing, yummy food eating, Dallas Cowboys winning, gone way too fast kind of day!

Monday was busy with Grandpa Ross and Grandma Jenna packing up and playing a last round of ring around the rosy.

Then they headed on back to Wichita and we went and checked out McDonald’s play land and ice cream cones. (Both were great) Tomorrow Great Grandma Erma and Grandma Linda head home.

Thanks for coming to visit everyone. I sure had a good time and I hope you guys did too!  Aren’t we so blessed to be able to all be together for Christmas!

Isaiah 9:6

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
       And he will be called
       Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
       Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
