Laura's Shower

While my computer is getting all fixed up at Best Buy, I'm having to use Nick's. He doesn't have the fun blogging software so it just isn't the same. :)
Last Saturday we got to celebrate the upcoming arrival of baby Truett. This will be Jason & Laura's first baby. We had all kinds of yummy foods and lots of chit chat. Here are some pictures from our morning.
The yummy food. Great job gals!

Welcome Baby Ethan

Today was Natalie’s shower for Baby Ethan.  It was so strange getting ready for a boy thing. We have all been so used to girls everywhere!  It was so fun seeing so many people that we don’t get to see nearly often enough.

Here is the super cute diaper cake Bobbie made! Isn’t it so cute!!!

Guess Who?

Guess who is already home? NICK!  The deployment job went away, so the deployment went away, so Nick is not away!  What a fabulous blessing and miracle. It seems unreal and like he is just visiting and will be leaving again. We have thinking about, packing for, and talking about this deployment for so long it seems odd that it has gone away.

Here is Madeline helping Nick unpack.

Also known as trying on all his stuff.

This why you don’t let your almost 2 year old lick the chocolate off the spoon. Although her shouting Wow! Fun! when I handed it to her was almost worth the big mess.

Yes, it was even in her hair!

Day 1

It has begun. Yep, Madeline & I dropped of Nick at the base early this morning. He is headed for a month of training and then a 6 month deployment.  That makes it 7 months until we see his handsome face again. These are the things I know…

1. God is sovereign. He was not surprised by this deployment and I know He has a purpose.  (Pray that is revealed quickly to Nick and I.)

2. The internet will be our best friend with Skype, email, and lots of blogging.

3. Madeline hasn’t wet her pants in 5 days! (I had to think of something happy!)

That is my update for today.  I must go pack a box of all the stuff we couldn’t fit in his bags and get it to the post office.

Major Select

Tonight was the Major Select party at the base. There was super yummy food, great friends, and lots of children for Madeline to play with.  Way to go Nick.  We are so proud of you.

Park

Madeline is finally getting tall enough and brave enough to do lots of things at the park.  But the swings (known by Madeline as Wees) are still her favorite.

Lots and Lots of Mail

Nick and Madeline get the mail everyday after lunch and before nap. It is their little routine. All Nick has to say is mail and she is running to the door. Friday as mail time arrived Madeline decided that she should take the laundry basket in hopes that there was lots and lots of mail. No amount of discouraging would change her mind. She walked all the way to the mailbox and back with the big ole’ basket.  She even sat on the porch after the trip and sorted the mail. She sure makes us laugh.

The moral of this story is…. Madeline loves mail, please somebody send some! :)
