Second Annual Carving Party

carving party 2009 019 cropped

Tonight we held our 2nd annual carving party. Click here for the 1st annual pictures. It was a nice chilly night that was super perfect of the fire pit, hot dogs, and s’mores!  We had a great time with the Shaub’s and Brown’s!  What amazing fun friends to relax with. The little girls (Isabella and Madeline) just played and played. I bet they will both sleep so well tonight they have to super tired from following each other all around inside and outside. We even found some time to carve our pumpkins. The Shaub’s went with the spider theme, The Brown’s went with a cat, and we did the words Trick or Treat.  It was so cold outside and the carving was a little bit too far from the fire that we hurried through that activity to get to the fire sitting part!

Coloring

Madeline has really started to love coloring. I still think her favorite part is the taking the crayons out and putting them back in the bag.  We are still working on not eating the crayon and that crayons only go on paper.  As a side note, we are giving potty training a whirl around here. So far Madeline is doing pretty well. We are just getting used to the routine and taking it nice and easy.

A Week of Fun

This week we have been having so much fun with our friends! Between Bible Study, Park dates, Play Group, and Book Club, I really don’t think things could get much more fun around here!  We are just so dang blessed! Here are some pictures from our park date with friends and for my mom, a picture of the table I set for my book club dinner.  Madeline has just been busy playing and talking to her friends. I sure wish I knew what she was saying. Today she was trying to tell Nick something and he just wasn’t getting it. Finally he said take me and show me. She took him by the finger and lead him to her room where she wanted her shoes out of the closet. She does say shoes very clearly but she just stuffs it in the middle of a whole bunch of things we just don’t quite understand. She is such a fast talker.

Family Time

This weekend Nick’s Mom (Linda), Grandma (Erma), and Aunt (Nancy) all drove the 15 hours to come visit Altus! We have had a wonderful time playing cards, eating yummy food, taking lots of walks, and chasing Madeline all around the house. She has shown off with her ability to count to 3, sing Old MacDonald, say thank you, and scream weee at anything that seems sort of fun. Thanks for driving the 15 hours to come see us!

Girl’s Weekend!

Last weekend I had the privilege of spending the weekend with my college roommates. It is so amazing when you can just pick up a friendship right where it left off.  These gals are some amazing friends who I can just talk about ANYTHING with. I pray that everyone has the opportunity to have friends like these.   Especially, one that is a fabulous photographer and can edit our photos. Here are the pictures Julie took of us.

Nicole and Julie are both about to have their third baby. This was a great time to relax before their lives get extra crazy.

We were able to go shopping, eat a fabulous Ted’s lunch, Skype with our other roommate, and chat until way too late without any interruptions! It is amazing how much more relaxing our time together is without our babies. Thank you to our four fabulous husbands for watching the children while we took a little time to relax and catch up.  For those of you wondering…Madeline and Nick did fabulous!  Madeline did call me me one time while playing with Nick’s phone. She had lots to tell and it all must of been very funny because she kept laughing. Nick finally took the phone and wondered why I had called.  We got a good laugh out of our 18 month old calling me. I have a feeling she might have been tattling on Nick. :)

Labor Day 2009

We spend Tuesday – Thursday in Oklahoma City while Nick was taking some fabulous classes. Then on Thursday night we headed to Wichita to see my parents! It was nice having longer then a weekend to hang out.  I think Madeline might finally be beginning to recognize those two crazy grandparents!  We had lots of fun and the weather was so nice. Madeline enjoyed a little spin around the block in her Corvette.
