William Steven Schindler

Yes, our Little Will is here! I think the most exciting thing is that I don’t have to type Hot Dog anymore. Although, Madeline continues to call him Hot Dog.  We actually didn’t decide his name until the last minute. We couldn’t leave the hospital until we had a name. So on Sunday afternoon we made our decision William (Nick’s grandpa’s name and My grandpa’s name), Steven (Nick’s middle name, Nick’s Dad’s name, and My Dad’s middle name). I think we have just about covered all the men in our lives. :)

Here is how it all happened…

Friday night I wasn’t feeling very hungry for dinner so I decided to have a few jalapeƱo poppers. Yep, I think that is what did it.  Then around 10:00pm I had a few contractions and Nick sent me to bed with a glass of water and told me to not have this baby on one of his days off. Well, around 12:30 the contractions started. They were 8 minutes apart and then when they went to 7 minutes I decided to call the grandparents and wake up Nick. Everyone started heading to O’Fallon to take care of Madeline and Nick took a shower and started to load up the car. Finally when the contractions were 4 minutes apart I hustled Nick up and he loaded Madeline in the car and we headed to St. Elizabeth’s. Thank goodness I was the only person in the labor section. I had such wonderful personalized care. It was FABULOUS.  They also had great medications and my epidural guys were my new best friends. Finally Grandma Linda, GG, and Andy arrived and whisked our Madeline away.  Around 12:55 pm I felt the need to push and 15 minutes later here came our little boy.  Let me just say he was LOUD! He came out crying. He weighed an even 9 pounds, 21 inches long, and his head circumference was 15 inches!  Soon I learned why he was screaming he was HUNGRY!  A 9 pound boy takes a lot of food.  Here are a few pictures of the day.

Andy, GG, Madeline, Will, and Linda the day they headed back to Ohio.

Grandpa Ross and Grandma Jenna are still here helping out.  It sure has been nice having so many people here to finish up a few to do list and heap attention on Madeline Grace.

Welcome to the world William Steven Schindler!

Crazy times in Schindlerville

Now that we are a family of 4 I am realizing that time is speeding up!  Christmas is quick approaching, I have a 4 day old child and not a single Christmas card idea. That is why I LOVE Shutterfly. They will print your card, mail your card, and keep your Christmas card list from year to year. Yes, this is going to be the year of the Shutterfly Christmas card. I have LOVED their bookmaking for our scrapbooks. Madeline has two favorite bed time reads. One is the ABC photo book I made on Shutterfly and the other is the day she was born that I made on Shutterfly.  So please go and try out their things and yes Grandma’s I am working on the yearly calendar Shutterfly.

Still no baby but we are ready for Christmas!

Nick and I try to decorate for Christmas on Veteran’s Day and then we make anybody that comes for Christmas help us take down the decorations. Madeline is a fabulous Christmas tree decorator, but only the bottom 2 feet.  She also thought all the ornaments that matched should be on the same branch.

Cute

As we are waiting for the arrival of Hot dog we have been spending many evenings relaxing on the couch. (resting up)Madeline informed me that she was being extra cute with her Daddy and to take a picture, please. She sure loves to have her picture taken. I hope she is willing to share camera time with little one!

Big BSF girl

Madeline is doing so much better with not crying during BSF. Her teachers both have commented on how well she knows the songs and sings (loudly).  To celebrate we headed to McDonald’s to have lunch and play in the play land. Thank you Grandma Linda for the Halloween gift card. It made for a very fun treat.

Singing in the Tub

Some people may sing in the shower but Madeline loves to sing in the tub. Too bad the camera battery went dead right before the grand finale of Jesus, Loves Me.  I think the hiccups really add to the singing.

Kids Rooms

Today I thought I would post a few pictures of Hotdog and Maddie Grace’s bedrooms. We have been busy hanging pictures and curtains. It sure takes a bunch of time to put a house together. Hopefully I will get faster with each move, right?

This is the bookcase Nick made. It just needs the trim added and painted. But, with the garage still a bit of a wreck we are missing a few of the tools needed to finish. :) This is inside her closet. We made a little reading spot in there with a little chair. She loves it and loves the fact that she has figured out how to lock her door! There is a peek into our O’Fallon house.
