Thrilling Thursday

Wow! What a fun busy day. I actually got a little visit from Madeline at 2:00am. I heard the sound of little foot pajamas on the tile floor and then I see her standing next to Nick checking on him. Then she turned around and went back to bed. I went on down to check on her and she was trying to get back into bed. She went back to sleep and slept until 8:50am! What a nice early Christmas present for me! After breakfast and a shower it was time for Little Tad to take a nap. Madeline loves using the couch arm rest covers for her babies.

Thursday 003

We were headed out to do some shopping downtown and we needed some gas.

Thursday 004

Madeline was waiting patiently in the warm car while I was outside FREEZING!

Thursday 005

We met up with Isabella and Natalie downtown. Here the girls are giving each other a little kiss. They are so funny together.

Thursday 014

Here we are outside the shops. She was so patient in her stroller as we went place to place. I think the granola bar and the fruit snacks I gave her helped.

Thursday 016

Then on a whim we decided to eat at McDonalds!

Thursday 023

This is the first time the girls have really played in the play land. They climbed and climbed and climbed.

Thursday 029

Thursday 030

It was so nice that they had two steering wheels. We didn’t even have to practice our sharing skills.

Thursday 033

We headed on home for a nap. Madeline must have talked to herself before falling asleep for at least 30 minutes. She even came out of bed once said Hi and headed back into bed. After naptime Madeline decided she needed to take all her books out and spread them around the floor.

Thursday 034

During naptime I sewed basket covers for her new baskets.

Thursday 037

Here is Madeline enjoying a yummy dinner of Nick’s famous pulled pork.

Thursday 040

With the Christmas craziness our UPS guy doesn’t come until after 6pm each night. Madeline is wearing her new hat that she got on our shopping trip. She loved opening the big boxes. One was filled with a fun Christmas present from Andy. A yummy breakfast kit.  The coffee smells so good! I can’t wait to make it tomorrow morning. Thanks Andy!

Thursday 041 Thursday 048

The next box was filled with Christmas packages for Grandma Linda and Great Grandma Erma from Uncle Eric and Aunt Sally. Madeline loved taken everything out and putting it back in over and over.

Thursday 042

Then she moved onto the Christmas card basket. She read each card and pointed out all the babies.
Thursday 044

Then she noticed that baby doll was looking tired. She wrapped him up and laid him down.

Thursday 051

Then I guess she was tried because the next thing I know she was laying down covered up and saying Shhh.

Thursday 052

And during all this excitement this was Nick. He has a HUGE paper due tomorrow night for him master’s class. He doubled up this term and he has been crazy busy. We will be glad for the holiday break.

Thursday 047

I hope you guys enjoyed Thrilling Thursday. Get ready for Fabulous Friday! Thrilling Thursday wore me out! I’m headed to bed.

Wacko Wednesday

Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday… what a busy fun day. This morning we had to get up and get going. No being lazy in our pajamas. Madeline’s friend Eva was headed over to play and my friend Tara was headed over to chit chat. Violet was just coming to hangout and be a cute baby. Here is a picture of Madeline waiting for Eva and playing with her stuffed dog from Uncle Eric and Aunt Sally. She must have gone to the door 10 times checking to see if they were coming.

Wednesday 001

Finally all our friends arrived. The girls had a great time playing and learning how to share.

Wednesday 005

I think Eva liked the hug.

Wednesday 006

Still saying CHEESE!

Wednesday 009

Madeline and Violet had a staring contest. I think Violet won. Madeline was so interest in Violet and just kept tickling her and saying Baby..shhhhhhhh…

Then it was time for lunch. Yummy avocado and chicken salad with some triscuits and orange. She was so busy eating she wouldn’t even cheese for me.

Wednesday 016

After lunch we mailed our Christmas cards..finally!

Wednesday 015

We were completely worn out from all our fun and it was time for a nice long nap. 1pm-3pm ! Woo Hoo for me!!! After I laid her down for nap she came out of her room to check on me. She said Hi and I helped her find her way to her room and into her bed. She came back out again about 5 minutes later and said hi to me in the living room and then bye. She walked back to her room. I checked on her a few minutes later and she had crawled into bed and gone to sleep. I didn’t take a picture of her escapes because I didn’t want to encourage that little trick. :)

After nap it was craft time with our Tinker Bell marker book. But the most fun part is the taking off and putting on of the caps.

Wednesday 019

Wednesday 022

Can you believe it is dinner time again?  Tonight was spaghetti. Here is Madeline at the beginning of dinner.

Wednesday 027

and at the end…. she does love spaghetti.

Wednesday 029

We had hurry and get cleaned up and head to Wednesday night church.  I am the director of the preschool (babies – kindergarten) Wednesday night Mission Friends program. Each month we have a different SBC missionary that we learn about, pray for, and even do projects for. It is a fabulous program that teaches our little ones about how important it is to tell others about Jesus.  This week was a little different because the older class that I teach with Natalie and Laura were going to be in choir the whole time celebrating their big performance. So these pictures are from the previous week. Here is our kindergarten class with Natalie, Me, and Laura in the back.

Here is Isabella and Madeline with Mary and Carol. The two greatest teachers. Madeline spends Sundays, Tuesday, and Wednesday with them. To say she likes them is an understatement!

After church we made a Wal-Mart stop and Braums trip for milk and then little princess was yawning and in bed by 8:00pm. What a busy day. Thanks for checking our Wacko Wednesday and get ready for Thrilling Thursday!

Terrific Tuesday

Terrific Tuesday is one of my favorite days of the week. Here is Madeline enjoying her breakfast of yogurt, apples, and waffle.

Tuesday 002 Then it was time to get dressed and ready for Bible Study. Tuesday 004

Here Madeline is putting on her shoes after she does a few spins on the kitchen floor.

Tuesday 007

Crawling on over to give me a good morning kiss.

Tuesday 010

Very serious driving to church. I think she is trying to text message Isabella and see how she is feeling.

We were running a bit late so I didn’t take any arrival pictures. Pastor Jeff was leading our class today so I could not be late!

Today was our Christmas luncheon. Yummy food!! Here are the ladies.  We were way down today. So many are so busy this time of year. I’m standing right next to Becky our fearless leader.  What a blessing this group of ladies has been. Here is the bonus. The nursery workers feed our children lunch every week and we are all able to go to lunch and fellowship (that is Chinese for chit chat).

Tuesday 011

I tried to sneak in and take a picture of Madeline with Miss Mary and Miss Carol. She sure loves these ladies. She gets to be with them on Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. They are FABULOUS!

Tuesday 012

Madeline loves seeing all her little friends there. Of course today Isabella was sick and Eva was with her Grandma. Here is Madeline all packed up and ready to head home for nap.

Tuesday 016

After nap Madeline opened her mail. She got two fabulous cards. (I saved one for her to open tomorrow)  Here is a little video of her with her new card. Thank you Grandma Linda.

Here Madeline is opening her card….

Tuesday 022

and now for the dancing…

Then after the dancing it was dinner time. I was busy running dinner to a family that just had a new baby so no pictures of the yummy cheesy potatoes, mushroom, and steak we had for dinner. After dinner Madeline loved playing with Rody (the horse) and she must of done all her puzzles at least twice.

Tuesday 034

Before we know it is the end of another day.  Thanks for checking in…get ready for Wacko Wednesday……

Monday

Oh how I love Mondays! Mondays are our laid back get ready for the rest of the week day. It is the day we clean up from all the weekend fun. Our morning started with breakfast, showers, and Madeline’s favorite new past time teeth brushing. You will hear her throughout the day in the bathroom brushing her teeth. I give the extra good brushing in the morning and before bed. She is the boss of all the other times.

Then it is time to do some chores. Madeline is an excellent duster.

Big girl bed 030 smaller

Then this where we are most of the time. Yes, we are in the middle of potty training and we do love to sit on the potty and put on a show. It is a great time of having Mom all to ourselves. Madeline has been doing great (knock on wood). She is wearing big girl panties and has only had a few accidents.

Monday 011 smaller

Then I forgot to take some pictures..but it was pick up toys time, lunch, and then naptime…

Then it was time to wake up…

Monday 006 smallerWe had snack and while I folded laundry Madeline read a few books.

Monday 013 smaller

Before too long Daddy came home and we headed to Val’s for the 2.99 cheeseburger Monday night special. YUMMY

Monday 001 smallerMonday 003

Finally we went down to the city lights to have Madeline’s picture taken with Santa. Well… I think we will try another night. Nick and I have never seen her go up or down stairs so fast. She was so scared of Santa.  As soon as we walked away she was happy as a lark again and just all smiles. Then we circled around and when she saw that happy guy in the big red suit she took off running yelling CAR, CAR, CAR.  I think she was so ready to go home.

Monday 017 smaller Monday 023 smaller

Happy as can be with her candy cane from Santa and her hand in her pocket to stay warm. We will give it another whirl. That is the bonus of living about 2 minutes from Santa. And that brings us to the end of Monday. Stay tuned for Terrific Tuesday….

Big Girl

This weekend Madeline made the big step out of her crib and into her big girl bed. She was so excited to sleep in her bed! After I finished making the bed I noticed she was standing behind me with her lovey and binky.  She was ready to hop on in for nap. I was able to talk her into eating lunch first and then trying it out.  The first night she went right to sleep but when I got up to check on her (after Nick woke me up to ask me if I thought she was ok in the big bed) I found her sleeping on the floor. She had crawled out of bed and taken her blankets with her. Last night she did sleep all night in her bed and is sleep there right now! WOO HOO!  Here are some pictures of her napping in her new bed.

Big girl bed 002 smaller Then on Sunday we headed to Lawton to pick up some things at Sams. This is the way Madeline entertains us for the drive. (Yes I tightened her seat belt after I stopped recording.)

Then we went to a Goodbye party & Christmas Party  for our Sunday School class.  Our Sunday school teacher (Jim Moore) is moving to Florida.  Now his family will be closer to the rest of his family. Very happy for them but super sad for our class!  Here is Madeline waiting for us to leave for the party.

In case you wondered the cheese face is still around.  I can’t get out the camera with out a big loud cheese and a huge smile!

Now the rest of the week I have been challenged by Natalie Shaub to do a week in the life of Madeline. So I am going to try and post daily of our activities. It should be fun!

Deeper Still

This weekend I was able to go to Oklahoma City with the girls to attend Deeper Still. It was a fabulous Friday night and all day Saturday event with Beth Moore, Kay Arthur, and Priscilla Shirer.  It was absolutely wonderful and if you have the opportunity to go then GO!  Thanks to Natalie’s mom being in town  we were able to leave early on Friday.  We did some quick shopping, ate at Cheesecake Factory, and headed downtown for the conference. We spent the night at a gorgeous hotel Natalie found and then got up early the next day for the conference. We sure had lots of fun girl time and relaxing time! Madeline and Nick seemed to have a fun time if the number of toys spread throughout the house was any indication. :) What great husbands we have to encourage us and enable us to get away for the weekend!

Thanksgiving 2009

We were able to once again catch a hop to McChord AFB and drive on to Portland for Thanksgiving. This year we actually arrived at a great time and had a super smooth flight.  It was so nice getting to see Nick’s brother Eric and his wife Sally. They have a very well behaved doggie named Sarah. Madeline was a little nervous about Sarah the first day but by day number two she was hugging, tickling, and playing with Sarah.  I hope Sarah enjoyed all the attention. We spent the days shopping in real stores, taking walks, playing cards, and EATING! Sally whipped up a fabulous Thanksgiving feast along with one of the best chocolate pies ever!  Thanks for the great trip Uncle Eric and Aunt Sally!
