Finished Project

Here are a few pictures of the finished playroom. I wish I had pictures of what it looked like before. Just imagine a not good yellow on all the walls and ceiling, toys piled in the middle of the ugly tile floor, broken blinds, and a crazy looking ceiling fan. This is what it looked like when our Sunday School class was all finished. I think HGTV would be proud!

(How great is the curtain Amy made????)

This is the view standing in the doorway.

The floor are rubber tiles that just snap into place. They are nice and cushy and we even got extra incase there is a spill or two.

Natalie painted this seaweed and I guy in our class (Brett) made the toy shelves.

The rules painted free hand by Mandy Fish!

I think the fish looked pretty great in the room. It really helped that the ladies added bubbles on the wall around the fish and drops of water on the jumping fish. I even have about 5 extra fish. Sooooo….if anybody has a need for some wooden fish.

Tinker Bell

Tonight Madeline actually got to wear her Halloween Costume. It was the squadron Trick-or-Treat party. The children went office to office and the parents enjoyed all the snacks in the lounge. It was very fun! I took a few pictures of Madeline before we headed to the big party.  After the party we dropped Madeline off at the churches babysitting and went to our Sunday School mission project. I have never seen Nick clean so many toys. We sorted and organized and scrubbed and scrubbed. We will head back up tomorrow to put everything in the painted room. What a busy weekend.

Fish,Fish,Fish

It all began on a cold Saturday…. Our Sunday school class is redoing the playroom at a local women’s shelter. We decided on a fish and ocean theme so I whipped out the clip art (love clip art), the overhead projector, and  big piece of wood. After I traced the fish, Nick cut them out. I sanded and sanded and then Tara and Natalie helped me paint them all. Who knew it would take so many coats of paint. I think they came out pretty cute! Great job team. I can’t wait to see the finished room with the new bookcases the guys in class made, the curtains they made, and new flooring! It is going to be a busy weekend and I am going to pretend the whole time that we are on HGTV!

Four Years Ago Today….

Today was the big 4th anniversary for Nick and I!  Sometimes it seems like we have been together forever and other times I can’t believe four years have already come and gone.

Here we were on our special day.

Tonight we spent in a very romantic way. It all started with a fabulous trip to Lawton with a chatty Madeline in the backseat. Then we headed to Sam’s for a quick tire rotation and snack supply refill.  We had hors d'oeuvres at Sam’s. YUM! Then we headed to Chick-fil-a and enjoyed two free sandwiches with our coupon and one yummy children’s meal. Then there was ice cream and play land time.  We finished with a yummy Starbucks treat and quiet drive home with a sleeping Madeline. Who knew so many things in our life would change in just four years. I would have never imagined all that has happened. We both talked about how blessed we are right here in Altus with fabulous friends, a great baby, and family that loves us. Seriously, I couldn’t imagine a more fun and relaxing way to spend our anniversary.

I forgot our camera for our fun evening..rats!

Here is our most recent picture.

Do we look 4 years older?

18 Month Doctor Appointment

Today we took Madeline in for her 18 month appointment.  She is growing, growing, growing!  She is now 33 1/2 inches tall and  27 1/2 pounds.  She is still in the 90th percentile in all areas.  I think that means she is gifted. :)  She is in love with puzzles right now and is so cute when she turns them and turns them in her hands to get them right. She loves to high five after each piece.  Cheese is still the favorite food and many times you can hear Madeline running through the house yelling Cheeeeeeese!  So if the Schindler’s are headed to your house to visit -  you better have cheese and puzzles. :)

Second Annual Carving Party

carving party 2009 019 cropped

Tonight we held our 2nd annual carving party. Click here for the 1st annual pictures. It was a nice chilly night that was super perfect of the fire pit, hot dogs, and s’mores!  We had a great time with the Shaub’s and Brown’s!  What amazing fun friends to relax with. The little girls (Isabella and Madeline) just played and played. I bet they will both sleep so well tonight they have to super tired from following each other all around inside and outside. We even found some time to carve our pumpkins. The Shaub’s went with the spider theme, The Brown’s went with a cat, and we did the words Trick or Treat.  It was so cold outside and the carving was a little bit too far from the fire that we hurried through that activity to get to the fire sitting part!

Coloring

Madeline has really started to love coloring. I still think her favorite part is the taking the crayons out and putting them back in the bag.  We are still working on not eating the crayon and that crayons only go on paper.  As a side note, we are giving potty training a whirl around here. So far Madeline is doing pretty well. We are just getting used to the routine and taking it nice and easy.
